Whether you're planning for a small intimate Thanksgiving gathering or you’re already thinking about Christmas celebrations, it’s never too early to start planning for a family get-together. Especially after a year like 2020, we have to make the most of all of the time we get to spend with loved ones, and an intimate gathering is a perfect way to take your mind off of the chaos.
We’re making this process a little bit easier for you with our simple guide on how to prepare your home for holiday festivities! Keep reading for some of our favorite hosting tips.
Stock the Bathrooms
There are a few things you’ll want to add to every bathroom in your home when you’re hosting.
Make sure you have extra toilet paper rolls out. Make them visible so that your guests don’t have to dig through your cabinets and drawers in search of more TP.
Add a plunger to every bathroom. It happens to everyone, but it still feels embarrassing when you clog a toilet. Take some of the embarrassment away by putting a plunger in the bathroom so your guests can handle the clogs themselves.
If you have guests that will be spending the night, don’t forget to add extra towels to the bathrooms so they can shower and wash up the next morning! And while you’re at it, check on the soaps, shampoos, and conditioners in the shower to make sure they’re full.
Avoid Clogs
When it comes time for everyone to clear their plates after dinner, put the trashcans front and center and have someone man the sink so that large food scraps don’t get tossed in the garbage disposal. This is the easiest way to avoid a clogged sink drain!
To avoid shower clogs, use a mesh drain cover, this device will catch hair before it can fall down the drain and cause a clog.
